The Owl and the Pussycat

The Owl and the Pussycat

From May to July 2012 body>data>space has been working in partnership with Watermans Art Center and young people from local schools in Brentford on a  light and sound performance rejuvenating the “Owl and Pussycat” theme entitled ‘Hey There Pussy Cat!’

body>data>space team and artists Sasha Spasic, Gemma Riggs and Simon Green have been running a series of workshops with 8 schools, creating, mixing and editing fascinating audio and visual content inspired by the Owl and the Pussycat poem, with students from very different backgrounds and abilities.

Conceived by Watermans and created by body>data>space, “Hey There Pussy Cat”was presented on Brentford Lock alongside a new water-themed opera based on “The Owl and the Pussycat” directed and performed by the ROH2 (Royal Opera House) premièring on Brentford Lock before it floated along London’s canals to the Olympic Park, as part of Hidden London.
