Marie Proffit

Marie is a freelance Curator and Cultural Manager currently based between London and Sweden and working at the intersection of the arts, creativity and innovation. Her passion is to create future scenarios for the audience around themes resonating with society, technologies and science at European level.

As a curator, she have developed a focus and expertise on new media / digital arts and technologies as part of digital collective body>data>space in collaboration with Ghislaine Boddington, including The Games Europe Plays.

Marie joined body>data>space as Marketing and Development Co-ordinator from 2011 to 2016. In this framework, she has been involved in the development and promotion of key digital and interactive body projects including EU projects Robots and Avatars, Women Shift Digital, Me and my shadow, MADE / Mobility for Digital Arts in Europe.

In 2014 Marie was the producer ‘Ring The Changes’, a digital dance performance involving interactive sound visualisation created by deaf dance artist Chisato Minamimura in collaboration with digital artist Nick Rothwell and body>data>space, which premiered at South Bank Centre in 2014.

From 2011 to 2017 she led and coordinated EUNIC London, the network of the Cultural Institutes from the member states of the European Union in London. Since 2016 she is the Communication Manager of Aerowaves, Europe’s hub for emerging choreographers.
