JiaXuan Hon - bodydataspace

JiaXuan Hon is an independent dance producer, working under the name of her company Blackwinged Creatives. With a firm belief in the power of human body, she produced dance productions that toured to international stages, a mass dance performance by 300 volunteers, and platforms such (hackathons and incubators) that brought together dancers and technologists to collaborate. She has worked with dance companies on long term basis, such as Akram Khan Company and A?E, and on projects for institutions such as Sadlers’ Wells, Barbican and The Trampery. Born and raised in Malaysia, JiaXuan holds a BA (Hons) Dance and Culture from University of Surrey, UK. She continues to observe how technology and business practices shape the cultures we live in.

body>data>space – interactive design collective based in East London who have advocated for the living body to be at the heart of the digital debate since the early 1990s. Our focus is on body responsive technologies, virtual physical networks, interactive interfaces, user centred experiences and collaborative sharespaces.

We create fascinating connections between performance, architecture, new media and virtual worlds. We make and commission events/installations, we curate exhibitions and debates, consult on creativity and technology and present into a wide variety of sectors on the living body and technological evolutions. We aim to enable body knowledge to be shared through technologies.
