Mycelia – Creative Direction

body>data>space has been working closely with Imogen Heap and her Mycelia team to help realise their vision of creating a new music industry ecosystem.

Contributing Creative Direction, dramaturgy, moderation, production, design and photographic support, body>data>space co-produced the two-day Mycelia World Tour pilot and Creative Passport launch in December 2017. Ghislaine Boddington was also one of the summarisers of the Creative Passport Workshop at Somerset House in January 2018.

The December landmark event saw 200 VIP guests from the worlds of music and the music industry, technology including Blockchain and academia, gather for performances, panels, and discussions. Mycelia launched a physical representation of the digital Creative Passport, and the first day concluded with a special performance by Imogen Heap and Frou Frou.

In January, artists, developers, and representatives of industry organisations, participated in a one-day workshop supported by Somerset House, to collaborate and drive forward the Creative Passport plan. Further events are in the pipeline.

Founded by Imogen Heap, Mycelia is a growing collective of creatives, professionals and lovers of music, and has a mission to empower a fair, sustainable and vibrant music industry ecosystem involving all online music interaction services. It seeks to unlock the huge potential for creators and their music related metadata so an entirely new commercial marketplace may flourish.
