Virtual Physical Bodies
a journey from the physical to the virtual and back again
An Exhibition by body>data>space at Centre Des Arts, Enghien-les-Bains, nr Paris

body>data>space have curated this exciting exhibition exploring question of the virtual/physical body and public spaces, looking at how innovative and emerging technologies can change and modify a new generation body into our real and daily lives. body>data>space collective with collaborators; Michael Takeo Magruder and Ivor Diosi

With the Centre Des Arts, this collaboration proposes to think about various scripts where the body is filmed, imagined, pixellated, modelled and animated into real daily environments – into architecture, the city and this exhibition. Through installations and multimedia displays, this exhibition is a reflection about the body, within live presence, utopia and fantasy.

The exhibition will run for 3 months to 11th January. The opening on the 9th October presents a special ‘skintouchfeel' performance telematic event

An accompanying catalogue gathers texts from Dominique Roland, Ghislaine Boddington, Yacov Sharir, Sue Broadhurst, Maurice Benayoun, Hellen Sky, John Knell, Stephan Koplowitz, Michael Takeo Magruder, Roy Ascott, Armando Menicacci and Emmanuel Cuisinier.

Creatures Great and Small

This exhibition by the Kinetica Museum launches on 2nd October as part of the Concrete and Glass festival. It showcases the work of 10 UK and International Artists experimenting with evolution, hybridisation and the infiltration of technology. body>data>space is writing the introduction for the "Creatures Great and Small" catalogue looking at the relationship between our technology enhanced society and the natural world.

Man & Machine: The Convergence
11th November 2008 - Bishopsgate Institute
Ghislaine Boddington will also be talking on a panel this panel as part of the Kinetica season of talks. This series of talks will focus on the convergence of art and science within the realms of robotics and cybernetics and explore new technologies and materials used by artists.
