MADE - Commission Winner

 

Image > MADE - Commission Winner - Joseph HydeWe are very pleased to announce that UK artist Joseph Hyde is the winner of the MADE Commission.

Joseph will create me and my shadow, a multi-site telepresence project taking place in four European cities (Istanbul, London, Mons and Paris). It consists of a virtual environment experienced in four installations (one in each city), which act as portals to an online space.

The project will be developed in four residencies and the final outcome will be presented in June 2012 at centre des arts, Enghien-les-Bains, France and simultaneously in the other partner locations. The UK residency is a co-production with the National Theatre.

Robots and Avatars - Collaborative and Intergenerational Futures

 

Image > Robots and AvatarsRobots and Avatars – Collaborative and Intergenerational Futures is a two year programme of work extending our research in the UK with NESTA into Europe. The project explores a near future world where collaborations between robots, avatars, virtual worlds, telepresence and real-time presence will be increasingly common.

With co-organisers KIBLA (Slovenia) and AltArt (Romania), the project looks at emergence of the European (virtual/physical) citizen and examines multi-identity evolutions and virtual mobility. The project comprises of a distinctive programme of activities including, artist commissions, a touring exhibition, learning experiences, live streamed debates, a week-long camp/residency, a website and a book.

Robots and Avatars - Exhibition and Call for Proposals

 

In late June 2011 there will be a call for proposals for exhibits and a series of artist commissions for the exhibition - so look out for the call and keep checking the website.

In March 2012 the Robots and Avatars Exhibition will open at FACT, Liverpool.

The commissions are co-produced with the National Theatre, London.  


E-MOTIONAL

 

E-MOTIONAL Bodies & Cities is a mobility and artistic exchange dance programme gathering artists and managers from six European countries.

The project aims to set up a network of artists and cultural practitioners from several countries in Europe and who share a common vision on the future development of contemporary dance.

The lead organiser of the project is the Gabriela Tudor Foundation (Romania).

Over two days of summer meetings, the MADE (Mobility for Digital Arts in Europe) and RAN (Digital Arts Network) networks, will gather their members (artists, scientists, engineers, cultural operators) and combine a European and international dynamics around mobility, artistic coproduction and residencies.

There will be an opportunity to find out about the projects that both networks will support.
